WELCOME

Amerasian Children of Vietnam Veterans is a dedicated 501(c)(3) organization, committed to reuniting Amerasians with their Vietnam Veteran fathers. With a robust network of members and chapters across the United States, we tirelessly work to provide support and foster connections within our community.

About Us: Bridging the Past and the Future

Amerasians are a living legacy of the Vietnam War, born between 1962 and 1976 to U.S. military personnel and Vietnamese women. These children often grew up in fatherless homes, facing severe discrimination and struggling for survival in Vietnam. In 1987, the U.S. Congress passed the Homecoming Act, allowing nearly 30,000 Amerasians to immigrate to the United States. However, upon arrival, they encountered new challenges as they adapted to Western culture.

Today, as many as 2,000 Amerasians remain in Vietnam, and our mission is to bring them home. We are dedicated to raising awareness about the Amerasian experience in both the United States and Vietnam, while strengthening the Amerasian community here in the U.S. by establishing Amerasian Children of Vietnam Veterans chapters nationwide.

While many of our efforts focus on assisting Amerasians still in Vietnam, we also provide support for Amerasians in the United States, helping with emergency expenses and other needs. A cornerstone of our mission is honoring the sacrifices of their Vietnam Veteran fathers.

We collaborate closely with other Asian organizations in Oklahoma to enhance the lives of Asian community members across the state. Amerasians seek recognition as full American citizens, proud of their mixed heritage. We firmly believe that American citizenship is the birthright of every Amerasian, and we are committed to advocating for their rightful place in the country their fathers served.
